SHAILA MUSIC offers musical uniqueness accompanied by sonic excellence. It is a world vision that seeks the universal in the colloquial artist. There is only one language that speaks to all humanity and it is the language of the heart. When the music comes from this place, neither time, language, nor age is a barrier, and it is understood by all.

Shaila Music is a small music production company dedicated to musical excellence, encouraging both the new artist and the veteran artist to record what is in their hearts. We at Shaila Music feel that when the artists are true to their own muse, the spirit within is at peace with the art, allowing the best to be expressed.

Elements of our projects come to us in various interesting ways. It might be recording a Turkish percussionist in Switzerland, a group of Cuban musicians in Los Angeles, a single ancient voice chanting Hindu folk songs or an a cappella choir in Zambia, playing music in Havana, Cuba, or singing in a Bombay, India studio with some of the most talented vocalists in the city. Always the music that is recorded is positive in nature and aimed at the upliftment of the human spirit. There is no place on earth, no indigenous people, who do not have some form of music. Music is one of the greatest ambassadors of goodwill in the world.

The unifying factor of all Shaila Music productions is the quality of sound and the high level of original artistry. Whether it is a music score for a film, or a ballet or an a cappella choir, all are treated with the same artistic meticulousness.

The driving force behind Shaila Music is Radha Botofasina. However, none of the sonic excellence could be achieved without the input of extraordinarily talented and experienced engineer/producer : Baker Bigsby. Whenever there is an opportunity to help in a fellow artist's recording or performance project, they readily share their talents selflessly. In their live performances, young and noteworthy musicians join ranks to present the best of the past, the present and the future. The same methodology is applied to all of their recording projects. This fosters a healthy respect for the artists who have gone before them and those who are still making their future greatness a reality. In the truest sense, this has always been the tradition of avant-garde music. Shaila Music & Records is committed to bringing Inspirational World Music from artists whose dedication to the Spirit is on a par with their musical prowess.
